This is Luke Cage.
Raised in Harlem, Luke (born Carl Lucas) got convicted of a crime he did not commit. While in prison, he was the subject of an illegal experiment, it granted him super strength and near invulnerability. He escapes and takes the name Luke Cage and begins being a Hero for Hire in Times Square.
He’d go on to befriend many superheroes and work on all sorts of teams, leading several of his own. His best friend is Danny Rand, the Iron Fist and the two work together often. Luke used to go by Power Man but gave the name to Victor Alvarez who he’d help mentor. He currently runs the Mighty Avengers and is married to Jessica Jones and has a child with her and they try to have their family life alongside Luke’s superhero life. Luke is a guy you go to for all kinds of help, he’s just as likely to help you move as he is to stop a drug lord or an angry god. He used to run the Thunderbolts and he’s still upset with how big a mess that went. Luke Cage is as strong as his heart is loving, so you should never be on the receiving end of one of his punches.
This is Black Panther.
Across an entire Atlantic Ocean, far from Harlem, there is the most advanced nation on Earth, Wakanda. Entirely self-sufficient, never conquered by outside forces, the sole source of absorbing Vibranium, and ruled by the Black Panther. T’Challa is part of the royal bloodline that is trained to take on the mantle. Brilliant in science, engineering, and more. Trained to be an master combatant, the Black Panther is then blessed by the Panther god and given a herbal remedy to grant Wakanda’s new leader peak human ability and enhanced senses.
T’Challa’s sister Shuri has also been the Black Panther when T’Challa was unable. He was also the first Black Panther to decide to get involved with the rest of the world and it brought him to work with the Avengers he is also part of the Illuminati, some of Earth’s most powerful superhumans.
I say all this because now I ask you:
HOW THE HELL CAN YOU THINK THESE TWO ARE THE SAME?
